Obituary of Argentina N. Moura

Argentina N. Moura, 92, of Peabody, passed away Saturday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Avelino Moura. Argentina was born in Pegarinho, Alijo, Portugal, on December 20, 1926, daughter of the late Abel and Belmira (Rosa) Carva. She was raised and educated there, prior to immigrating to the United States. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a steam presser in the leather industry in Peabody. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. She was a true matriarch of her family and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Alex and Terca Moura, Antonio Luis and Lisa Moura, Maria and Joaquim Lima, and Marie and Joseph Boutin; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings Alberto Carva and his wife Emily, and Laura Alice, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15 from 4-6:30P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by words of remembrance at 6:30P.M. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, with a brief prayer at the funeral home at 11A.M., followed by burial in Oakdale Cemetery in Middleton.
