Obituary of Samuel Kemon Dukas

Samuel Kemon Dukas, 24 LYNN -- Samuel Kemon Dukas, 24, beloved son of Thomas and Cathy (Poulos) Dukas of Reading, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home in Lynn. He is now at rest and in the hearts of his family and friends. A curious boy with a quick wit, Sam loved making people laugh, especially his cousins. He had a big heart and was happiest when he was with his family. When the kids saw Sam coming, they literally jumped for joy. Sam enjoyed his summers fishing and boating with his father’s family in Essex and vacationing with his mother’s family on the Jersey Shore. He was very proud of himself when he bought his own boat last fall and was looking forward to getting his commercial fishing license. In addition to fishing and boating, Sam loved cooking and was always experimenting with new recipes. He also enjoyed hockey and skiing, and loved all animals, especially his dog Jane. Born in Boston, Sam grew up in Reading where he lived for most of his life, and graduated from Reading High School. Sam had an entrepreneurial spirit and dreamed of starting his own business someday with money he was saving while working at various jobs including Dunkin Donuts in Lynn and Peabody. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Cathy Dukas of Reading, a sister Madison Dukas of Reading, and an extended family of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Sam was predeceased by his grandparents James and Joyce Poulos and Kemon and Ismene Dukas. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Friday January 18, 2019 from 4 – 8 P.M. at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A private Family Prayer Service will be held on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healthy Streets Outreach Program.
