Obituary of Louise A. (Hopkins) Yeaton
Louise A. (Hopkins) Yeaton, 93 PEABODY – Louise A. (Hopkins) Yeaton, 93, beloved wife of Robert K. Yeaton, died peacefully on Tuesday January 22, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Fred Hopkins and Elizabeth (French) (Hopkins) Murphy and also the step-daughter of the late Arthur Murphy. She grew up and lived most of her life in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1942. It was there that she met the love of her life and future husband, and they continued their ties to the class by serving as co-chair of the Reunion Committee for many years. Bob and Louise were married at the Washington Baptist Church in Lynn on October 5, 1946 after Bob returned home from his service with the Coast Guard. This church became an important part of their lives for many years, and they were very active members of the church community. Bob and Louise were truly devoted to each other and they spent seventy-two years together in a loving marriage that was an inspiration to everyone who knew them. In 2003, Bob and Louise moved from Lynn to Brooksby Village in Peabody where they enjoyed many wonderful years with the friends they made there. Louise was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Nothing was more important to her than her family, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Left to treasure Louise’s memory are her husband Robert K. Yeaton of Brooksby Village, her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Robert Brooks of Danvers, her sons and daughters-in-law Robert P. Yeaton and Joline of Boxford and Ronald Yeaton and Catherine of Rye, NH; her grandchildren, Katie Hamwey and her husband Travis of Westborough, Joel Yeaton and his wife Kristin of Bedford, NH, Jana Yeaton of Worcester and Lindsey McCaleb and her husband Charles of Chicago, IL and her great-grandchildren, Magie and Emily Yeaton and Olivia and Luke McCaleb. She is also survived by a sister Dorothy Muise. She was predeceased by her siblings, Marie Chadwell, Jennie Peterson, Ruth Dorman and Robert Hopkins. The family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care provided by the hospice team from Care Dimensions and for the care provided by the many other wonderful caregivers who helped Louise during her long illness. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 26, 2019 at 10:30 AM in the Brooksby Village Chapel, with granddaughter Rev. Jana Yeaton officiating the Service. A private family burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Those who desire may offer expressions of sympathy to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
