Obituary of Stephen La Rosa

Steven J. La Rosa, 56, of Dudley Circle, died Monday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Peter and Barbara (Draper) La Rosa. He lived in Revere in his youth, and attended Revere schools. He graduated from Revere High School. Mr. La Rosa served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He moved to Peabody where he lived for over 25 years. He was self-employed with S & J Cleaning for residential and commercial properties which he did for many years. He was an active sports enthusiast, especially for the Boston teams. He was involved with youth sports, served as past Vice-President of Peabody Pop Warner Football, and active in Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, and he enjoyed golfing at Sagamore Springs in Peabody/Lynnfield. He is survived by: one son, Bryan La Rosa of Salem; a dear friend and companion, Carol Baird of Peabody; one aunt, Ellen Simmons of Revere, and a life-long friend John Saporito of Ipswich. He was the former husband of Judith (McHugh) La Rosa of Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. Following cremation, a committal service will be held next week.
