Obituary of Denis J. Bedard

Denis J. Bedard, 79, of Peabody, died Friday evening at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. He was the former husband of Deborah Manning. Born in St. Simon de Drummond, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Raoul and Marie Rose (Metayer) Bedard. He was raised in Canada, later moved to Medford and has spent the last 50 years living in Peabody. Denis was a car mechanic who owned and operated Johnson Transmission in Medford for over 35 years before he retired. Denis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Amy Bedard of Groveland, his daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Christopher Spolsino of Sandown, NH, his beloved two grandchildren, Adam and Liah Bedard, and is also survived by 10 siblings and by many nieces and nephews all living in Canada. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private.
