Obituary of Marian L. (Flynn)(Diachisin) Trueira
Marian L (Flynn) (Diachisin) Trueira, 90, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Hathorne Hill in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph P. Trueira and the late Walter “Dyke” Diachisin, Sr. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Rhoda (Brown) Flynn. She was raised and educated in Lynn, attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, class of 1946. She later moved to Peabody where she has resided for over 70 years. Marian was employed as an assembler for the Griecco Clothing Company in Stoneham for many years before marrying her second husband Joseph Trueira. She enjoyed summering at her camp in New Hampshire where she enjoyed waterskiing. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, Japanese Bunka, eating sweet fudge, loved holidays and family, going to Nahant Beach and traveling with her husband to Hilton Head Island and Florida. Her favorite endeavor was spending time with her children and grandchildren and sharing in all of their sporting activities. Marian’s family would like to thank the staff at Hathorne Hill and Care Dimensions for their care, compassion and professionalism during these last few weeks. They are truly appreciative of your kindness. Marian is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter “Dyke” Diachisin and Robin, and David and Stephanie Diachisin, all of Peabody, her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Skip MacDonald of Peabody and is also survived by her five grandchildren, one great grandson, three step-children and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard L. Flynn and by her two grandchildren, Matthew Norfolk and Tania Diachisin. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
