Obituary of Ruth R Ambeliotis
Ruth R (Orgettas) Ambeliotis, 74, of New Port Richey, Florida, formerly of Peabody and Danvers, died early Friday morning at the Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in Florida following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Mathew N Ambeliotis with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rena (Vounessea) Orgettas. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1962. Ruth was the office manager for her family’s businesses, Travel Leather Company and Tan-Rite, Inc. both in Peabody, for many years before she retired. She also owned and operated two hair salon businesses, the Sisters Salon in Peabody and Rudolph Charles in Danvers. Ruth was also very active in the community volunteering her time and serving on many committees for the Red Cross in Peabody, the St. William’s Guild at St. John’s Prep in Danvers and the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox in Peabody. Ruth was very artistic. She enjoyed drawing and sketching and she loved to cook for her family. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her three children and their spouses, Nicholas and Elizabeth Ambeliotis of Gloucester; Carol and Kenneth Pinette of New Port Richey, FL and Michael and Nino Ambeliotis of Danvers, her brother and sister in law, Steven and Ann Orgettas of Swampscott, her sisters, Tessie Geomelos and Loretta Orgettas, both of Peabody, her 10 beloved grandchildren, Virginia, Emily, and Nicholas Ambeliotis, Jr, Mathew, Ted, and Michael Ambeliotis, and James, Cassandra, Mathew, and Arianna Bremis and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Effie Orgettas and brother-in-law, Peter Geomelos. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody followed by her funeral on Friday at 9:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Paleologos St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
