Obituary of D. Juanita (Brockman) Lynch

Juanita Lynch, 83, died peacefully June 27, 2006 in her home at Sunrise of Lynnfield surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife and best friend of Richard G. Lynch, Sr. for more than 61 years. She was born in Canton and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was predeceased by her parents, Veneda Edge Galloway and Roy Brockman, her twin brothers, Hubert Roy and Herbert Troy Brockman, and her cousin, Tommy Stansell. She is survived in Atlanta by her cousin-in-law, Marlene Stansell, and her niece, Cheryl Brooks. She was working as secretary to the Southern Division Branch Manager of Columbia Pictures when she met and fell in love with Richard who was stationed in Atlanta during World War II. The southern belle came north to Peabody, MA, where she and Richard married and raised their three children. In Peabody, Juanita worked as secretary at AC Lawrence Leather Company, and as medical secretary for Beverly Hospital and Dr. Fred Buckley (OB-GYN) for many years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Allyn Hardware, and at Shaughnessy Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peabody and volunteered at JB Thomas and Cape Cod Hospital and an active member of the Busy Bees. Juanita and Richard retired to their home in Eastham, MA, where they enjoyed many happy years in the comfort of Cape Cod, the Brewster Baptist Church, and many wonderful friends, especially ‘Uncle’ Bill Beardsley and the Covells. They enjoyed many warm winter months at Orange Manor in Winter Haven, Florida. She will be dearly missed by her children, Richard G. Lynch, Jr., of Lynnfield, MA, Elizabeth A. Lynch of Lee, NH, and Barbara J. Lynch of Andover, NH, her beloved grandchildren, Shauna Lynch and Brendan Tierney of Lynnfield, MA, and her extended family, Kirsten Ragusin, Julie Rector, and Christine Shea. The family is grateful to Rose Karimi and the staff of Sunrise of Lynnfield for their support and loving care. A memorial service will be held at the Brewster Baptist Church ,Main St., Brewster on Friday, July 7, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Douglas Scalise officiating. Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631-1827. Arrangements by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.
