Obituary of Joan Claire Bourgeois

Joan Clair Bourgeois, 85, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Continuing Care at Brooksby Village following a lengthy illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Etta (Hartigan) Bourgeois. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1952. Joan was employed as a clerk at General Electric in Lynn for over 37 years before she retired in 1988. She was a longtime communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody and was a member of the Carmel Club, Campion Club and the Entertainer’s Club. She loved dancing and was devoted to her faith and family. Joan is survived by her sister, Ernestine Jackson, her nieces and nephews, Nancy and Charlie Floyd, Richie and Elaine Jackson, Edward and Jean Jackson, John Bourgeois of WA, Phyllis Stone of CA, and is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, Philip, and Frederick Bourgeois, and by her nephews, Paul Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Jr, and Ernest Bourgeois Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Jean’s Cemetery, Lynn.
