Obituary of Adele J. McDonnell
Adele J (DiNardo) McDonnell, 92, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody following a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife of the late James J. McDonnell, former Deputy Fire Chief in Peabody. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Mariano) DiNardo. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1943. She also received as associate’s degree from North Shore Community College. She has lived in Peabody for the past 70 years. Adele worked in retail and later was an administrative assistant at Endicott College for many years before retiring. She enjoyed swimming, traveling, golfing, biking and dancing and upon her retirement she enjoyed going to the Peabody senior center as well. Adele is survived by her son, James and his wife Cathy McDonnell of Peabody, her 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Bob Finger of Brockton, Judi and Charley Lincicum of Danvers, Susan and Steve O’Leary of North Reading, Ellen McDonnell and David Temple of Wakefield, also survived by her beloved 9 grandchildren, Michael Finger of Texas, David Finger of Amsterdam, Melanie Morton of Seattle, WA, Anitra Brodeur of Windham, NH, Michael and John McDonnell of Peabody, Kevin O’Leary of Boston, Jim O’Leary of North Reading, and Emily Ciarametaro of Peabody, and also by her 7 great grandchildren, Will, Livia, Owen, Riley, Sloane, Abigail, and Max and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Ciarametaro Barrasso, and by her 8 brothers and sisters, Frank, Albina, Mary, Emma, Jennie, Jerry, Lena, and Gina. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Cedar Grove Ave, Peabody.
