Obituary of George N. Pappas

George N. Pappas, of Peabody, age 93, died Monday, March 4th, 2019. He is survived by his wife Sandra (Hjortsberg), daughter Dianne Pappas & husband Steve Marrow of Sudbury and son Chris Pappas & wife Annie Bruneau of Walpole. Brother to Helen Pappas and Liz Crocker, and the late Patricia Irving and James Pappas. Grandfather to Brandon Marrow, Evan Marrow, and Nathan Pappas. Uncle to 16 nieces and nephews. Graduated from Tufts with a degree in Electrical Engineering and from Northeastern with a degree in Business Administration. His education took a pause while he served in the Navy during World War II. He developed and managed real estate and facilities worldwide for over 30 years at EG&G, during their years of exponential growth. Champion of the underdog, George was known for hard work and attention to detail in all aspects of his life—be it golf or philosophy. He loved to share stories of his experiences, lessons learned and the colorful characters that he met along the way. Most of all, George was devoted to his large, extended family and his lifelong friends. Visiting Hours at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Wednesday, March 6th from 4 PM to 8 PM.
