Obituary of Jeannette Theresa Kearley
Jeannette (Wilson) Theresa Kearley, 87, of Maryland and formerly of Salem, Beverly, and Peabody, died Saturday morning at Somerford Place in Annapolis, Maryland following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Richard Kearley. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Provencher) Wilson and step daughter of the late Percy Swinnimar. She grew up in Salem, raised her family in Beverly, later lived in Peabody, and has lived in Maryland for the past 8 years. Jeannette was employed for over 35 years as an assembler for GTE on Loring Ave in Salem, and was a recording secretary and union steward there as well. After the closing of GTE, she worked for the State of Massachusetts as a job developer for the dislocated workers from GTE, Parker Brothers, and the Gloucester Fisherman, until she retired. Following her retirement from the state, she continued working part-time for Warren’s Lunch in Peabody until its closing. She is survived by her son Ronald J. Gagnon of Beverly, her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah J. and Nicholas Marotta of Churchton, MD, her brother William P. Wilson of Florida and her sister Sherly Wilson of CT and is also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Norman L. Gagnon and her brother James Wilson. She was the former wife of the late Leo J. Gagnon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
