Obituary of Carole A. (Cormier) McCarthy

Carole A. (Cormier) McCarthy, 75 PEABODY – Carole A. McCarthy,75, of Peabody, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2019 surrounded by her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Beverly in 1943, she was the daughter of Leonard and Jeanette (Dube) Cormier, and graduated from Beverly High School in 1961. Carole held many jobs over the years including billing clerk at Mass Electric Co, was a Real Estate Agent, and was a Court and Private Legal Stenographer, retiring about 10 years ago. Carole was a loving Wife, Mom and Grandmother whose priority was the love and devotion towards her family. She was passionate about golf and was a longtime member of Beverly Golf & Tennis (BG&T) where she was the Ladies Club Champion in 1996. She also won the Ladies Championship at River Wilderness in Parrish, Florida in 2000. She is survived by her husband Phil McCarthy of Peabody with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; three children, daughter Michelle Manning and her husband Jeff of Georgetown, MA, son David McCarthy and his wife Cynthia of Peabody, and Karen Gilmour and partner Bob Deeley of Norwell; seven grandchildren, Daniel Manning, Alex Manning, and Greg Manning of Georgetown, Patrick McCarthy and Kyle McCarthy of Peabody, and Reilly Gilmour and Will Gilmour of Norwell; two sisters, Mae Bushey and Judy Celeste and a brother Alan Cormier; predeceased by two brothers Norm and Ray Cormier, and she leaves several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, then for a Funeral Service honoring her life on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 11 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carole's name to either the Kaplan Family Hospice House c/o Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
