Obituary of George W. Little, Jr.

George W. Little, 72, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Kindred Care Hospital following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Shirley (Olendzenski) Little with whom he shared seven years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late George W. Little St., and Margaret (Thorpe) Little. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. He was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Tacker in the Leather industry for various Tanneries in Peabody. After his retirement, he worked as a dish washer at the Sunrise Assisted living center in Peabody. He was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E. # 1409 in Peabody, and also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid sports who enjoyed both the Patriots and Red Sox. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by 5 stepsons, Alan Larrabbe of Bedford, NH, Paul Larrabbe of Lynn, Dean Larrabbe of Exeter, NH, Neil Olendzenski of Peabody, and Chris Olendzenski of Lowell; a stepdaughter, Leah Olendzenski of Danvers; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Frank Gigliotti of Ipswich; two half brothers, James Little of Wilmington and Jeffrey Little of Salem, a half sister, Karen Little of Cape Cod, a stepmother, Gertrude Little of Salem; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Little of Salem, and Barbara and Sandy Neil, both of Danvers, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dog Mega. He was the brother of the late Salem Police Officer, patrolman Ernest Little. His funeral service will be held on Sunday at 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398 to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation prior to the service from 6 until 8:00 PM.
