Obituary of Maurita Agnes Holland
Maurita Agnes Holland, 87, of Peabody, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert D. Holland. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Emilie (Doucette) Cotreau. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1949. She lived in Lynn for over 60 years before moving to Gray, Maine in 1992. She spent 11 years living in Maine before moving back to Massachusetts and had lived in Peabody for the past 15 years. Her family and children were essential to Maurita, she dedicated herself to raising her family making sure all their needs and wants were met. She continued her loving ways with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all. Maurita was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all of Boston’s professional sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. While living in Maine, she was a volunteer for Gray’s senior citizens as well. She loved to read and enjoyed politics and history. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Angela Holland of South Ryegate, VT, her four daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Rob Iwanylo of Mohave Valley, AZ, Nancy and Greg Torres of Hillsborough, NH, Tracy and Ken Donahue of Peabody and Maria and Ron Rice of Peabody, her beloved 11 grandchildren, Brian and his wife Michelle Iwanylo, Michael Iwanylo, Scott and his wife Kerrin Holland, Michelle and her husband Joseph Pauline, Leslie Paye, Raechel and her husband Stephen Morganto, Michael, David, and Elizabeth Donahue, and Dana and Alex Rice and is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Cotreau and Thelma Andrade. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St, Peabody, Downtown Location, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Church to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will take place in Maine at a later date.
