Obituary of John Franklin, III

John Franklin, III, of Haverhill, formerly of Peabody, passed away Thursday evening at the Oxford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, with his daughter by his side, following a lengthy illness. John was born on September 30, 1949, he was the son of John Franklin, Jr. and Frances (Smith) Franklin, in Lynn, MA, where he was raised and educated, and later went on to attend the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He worked for his family’s business, Sepia Underground Construction, then went on to work as a draftsman in Framingham for many years. John enjoyed a few hobbies including playing chess, listening to music and watching movies, loved watching sports, participated in Fantasy sports leagues, and even coached a men’s basketball team along with his daughter, as his assistant. He will be missed by all who knew him. John’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of the Oxford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Haverhill for the care they gave John over the past 5 years. John is survived by his daughter and her husband, Kristen & Steven Capolupo of Newbury; his former wife, Jane (Clements) Franklin of Newbury; his siblings, Lee Waterman & her husband Frank of Peabody, and Gary Franklin of Haverhill, his grand dog, Bella, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 4 – 7P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Service on Thursday, March 29, at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Byfield Cemetery, Warren St., Georgetown.
