Obituary of Alice A. Perry

Alice A (Porter) Perry, 86, of Revere and formerly of Lynn and Chelsea, died Saturday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond Perry. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Jennie M. (Amero) Porter. She was raised and educated in Lynn, later lived in Chelsea and has spent the last 22 years living at the Jack Satter Home in Revere. Alice was a longtime waitress who worked mainly as the head waitress at the French Club and Yacht Club in Chelsea. She also worked for some function halls as well during her long career. Alice was a member of the Red Hats and was a soloist with many local Choral Groups who performed all over the North Shore. She also sang many times while she was working many functions as a waitress. Alice is survived by her son James A Myers of Lyman, ME, her two sisters, May Porter and Rose Woodrome, both of Swampscott, her three grandchildren, Ed and Rob Myers and Jamie DeRosa, her two great grandchildren, Ava and Sophia, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Albiny Porter, Edna Hogan, Lillian Freeman, Shirley Baird, Ruth Ruggieri, Julia A., Nancy M., Joan Bajdek, and Norma M. Porter. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name the Revere Elder Services, 25 Winthrop Ave, Revere, MA 02151.
