Obituary of Anthony A Loris

Anthony A Loris, 84, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Adamantia (Fykia) Loris with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage. Born in Chios, Greece, he was the son of the late Anastasios and Polymnia (Tsamardinos) Loris. He was raised and educated in Greece, he has lived between the United States and Greece for several years, but he had resided in Peabody for the past 21 years. While living in Greece, Anthony served as a seaman with the Greek Merchant Marines for over 50 years where he traveled all around the world. Anthony was a family man who enjoyed spending time with family and sharing in all of their endeavors. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing as well. He will be dearly missed. Besides his loving wife of 54 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Theodora and Polymnia Loris, both of Peabody, his brother, Nikolaos Loris of Peabody and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, here in the United States and Greece. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church at 5 Paleologos St. Peabody MA 01960.
