Obituary of Belmira P. (Braz) Martins
Belmira P. (Braz) Martins, 91, of Peabody, died Monday evening at Hathorne Hill in Danvers surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Antonio Martins. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mareileia (Sariava) Braz. She immigrated to the United States in 1967 with her family and settled in Peabody where she has lived for the past 52 years. Belmira worked for 27 years for Eagle Can in Peabody before retiring in 1994. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Martins of Peabody and Charles Martins and his wife Christine of Danvers, her sister, Ilda Pinto Braz of Portugal, her beloved two grandchildren, Elle Martins of New York City, and Antonia Martins of Danvers, her sisters-in-law, Rosa Martins and Eduarda Craveiro, brother-in-law, Edward Craveiro, and by many other extended family members. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Hathorne Hill and Beacon Hospice for their professionalism, kindness and compassions for the past 3 years. They are deeply grateful and are truly appreciative of all your efforts. Her funeral will be on Friday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Epilepsy Foundation of MA/RI, 95 Berkley St. Suite 409, Boston, MA 02116, Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave, Peabody MA 01960, or PAFHE, C/O Luso American Credit Union, 63 Tremont St, Peabody, MA 01960.
