Obituary of Dolores (Amaral) Carter

Dolores (Amaral) Carter, 66, of Peabody, died early Wednesday evening at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home, Danvers, following a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife of James Carter with whom she shared over 43 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of Maria (Correia) Amaral of Peabody at the late William Bucky Amaral. She was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1954 She worked for the city of Peabody for a number of years, first with the welfare department and later with the electric light as a clerk. She retired in1982 and has spent the last 22 years taking care of her family. She also was an avid reader. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ed Mazzetta of Peabody; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Roland Tripp of Cary, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Jill Mazzetta of Peabody and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 4 until 7:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy can be sent in her name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
