Obituary of Domenica Vercellone

Domenica Demi (Carando) Vercellone, 85, of So. Peabody died Thursday evening at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Valentino Tino Vercellone who died last year. She was born in New Bedford on July 10, 1918, the daughter of the late Peter and Teresa (Bollea) Carando and was a graduate of New Bedford High School. She has resided in Peabody for the past 55 years. She had been an office manager at the former Sirois Leather Co., Peabody for 25 years prior to her retirement. Mrs. Vercellone was a member of the Italian American Club of Peabody and a communicant of St. Ann’ s Church. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Carando of Annapolis, Md., a sister, Angeline Castellina of New Bedford, Ma., and five loving nieces and nephews, Joseph Vercellone of Cooper City, Fl., Joyce Vercellone of Peabody, Frank Vercellone of New Milford, Ct., Ronald Vercellone of Bradford, Ma. And Patricia Gettings of Middleton, Ma. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday from the Conway, Cahill- Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, So. Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’ s Unit of Veterans Hospital, 62 D Spring St., Bedford, Ma. 01730 in her memory.
