Obituary of Joan Natalie Beumel
Joan N. (Kelley) Beumel, 89, beloved wife of the late Oscar “Frank” Beumel, died peacefully on Easter Sunday April 21, 2019 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, following an extended illness, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Laconia, NH, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Ruth G. (McDonald) Kelley. She grew up in Everett where she graduated schools. She attended Lowell Teacher’s College, now U-Mass Lowell, and was among the first women to attend Boston College Graduate School for her Master Degree in Education. Mrs. Beumel was a teacher in the Everett public schools and later in Durham, NH where she taught elementary grades, and moved with her family to West Chester, PA and Newark, OH. She is survived by three sons, Gregory Beumel of Washington, D.C., Christopher Beumel of Charleston, SC, and Jeffrey Beumel of Newark, OH; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late LeRoy J. Kelley, Jr.
