Obituary of Kaity Kartalias

Kaity Kartalias, 41, of Haverhill and formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20 at her home. She leaves behind beloved mother Francine (May) Thornhill of Danville, NH. Born in Lynn, she grew up and lived in Peabody, MA for the first 15 years of her life. Kaity attended the Peabody school system and graduated in 1995 from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. She then attended Katherine Gibbs in Boston, MA. Kaity then resided in Salem, MA, for 13 years before moving to Haverhill, MA, 6 years ago to be closer to her loving mother. Besides her mother Francine and her step father Chuck Thornhill, she is survived by her sister Erika Watson of West Springfield, MA, her niece Ashley Palomares and husband Jeff of Revere, MA, nieces Heather, Nikki, and Alexi and nephews Eric, Michael and Christopher and by her pride and joy great nephew Yiannis Palomares. Kaity also leaves behind her dearest friends Patrice Gearing of Brighton, MA, and Paul Carolan, Jr. of Chelsea. She is survived by many relatives and friends. And of course, her uncle John (Oogie) May who passed in 2013. Kaity was an executive secretary for many years in Boston. She enjoyed shopping, being with her family and friends. Kaity’s smile was infectious. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Salem to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
