Obituary of James A. "Jim" Calderan
James. A. “Jim” Calderan, 49, husband of Catherine M. “Cathy” (Nolan) Calderan of Newmarket NH, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at his home.
Mr. Calderan was born on January 28, 1957 in Boston, son of Bruno and Josephine (Piccadaci) Calderan of Peabody. He was raised in Danvers and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School class of 1976. He resided in Salem before moving to Stratham NH in 1989 and then to Newmarket NH 5 years ago.
Mr. Calderan was employed as a custodian for the City of Salem MA Public School System, a position he has held since 1987. Prior to this, he was employed in the same capacity at the Fairweather Apartments in Salem. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Stratham Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing as a hobby and was an enthusiast of all sports, especially as a baseball fan.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 25 years of marriage and his parents of Peabody, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca A. Calderan of Newmarket NH; his mother-in-law, Doris (St. Laurent) Nolan of Danvers; a brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law, William and Amy Nolan of Danvers and Linda Potter of Palm Bay FL; several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 3 to 8 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Stratham Volunteer Fire Dept., Winicutt Rd., Stratham NH 03885 or the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Fl., Brookline MA 02445.
