Obituary of Catherine A. Diefenbach
Catherine A Diefenbach, 75, of Peabody and formerly of Revere, North Reading, and East Boston, died Tuesday April 30 at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George Diefenbach, Sr and Marion (Doucett) Diefenbach. She was raised and educated in East Boston and has lived in Peabody for the past 35 years. Catherine was employed at Brooksby Village for over 19 years before she retired. She was a well-know fixture at the security booth and always had an easy smile and she made everyone’s day. She also was a huge Red Sox fan and watched every single game during the season. She enjoyed listening to music, doing crossword puzzles, collecting coins and belt buckles, but her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family and having a fun-loving time. Catherine is survived by her two brothers, Joseph Diefenbach of NH and Robert Diefenbach of Beverly, her sister, Carol Diefenbach of Danvers, her sister-in-law, Suzanne Diefenbach, her nieces and nephews, James, Linda, and Dana Diefenbach, Emily and Hunter Cole, Jennifer Cole and Jessica and her husband Brian Cole, and by her life-long friend, Joanne Cole and her beloved cat Max. She was predeceased by her siblings, Walter, Paul, and George Diefenbach, Jr. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970. F
