Obituary of Francis A. "Frank" Ricci
Francis A. “Frank” Ricci, 92, of Peabody, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Brooksby Village in Peabody, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Sheila (Henry) Ricci, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Frank was born in Roslindale, MA, on November 26, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Brait) Ricci. He was raised and educated in Roslindale, a graduate of Roslindale High School, Class of 1944. He went on to serve his country during WWII as a member of the United States Navy, before being honorably discharged. Frank had brief periods of employment at Colonial Provision Co., Recording and Statistical Co., and IBM, before starting at W.R. Grace, in Cambridge. He was the first person to hold the title of Electronic Data Processing Manager for the W.R. Grace, Cambridge based divisions. After 43 years of service to the company, Frank retired at the end of 1993 as the Computer Operations Manager for W.R. Grace and Co. Construction Products Division. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and is survived by his children, Susan Flanagan and her husband William of Dudley, MA, Thomas Ricci and his wife Michelle of Groveland, MA and Joyce Helton of Center Barnstead, NH and her former husband Duane Helton and his wife Nanci Helton of Northwood, NH; his beloved six grandchildren, Brian Flanagan, Joy Flanagan, Caitlin Wagoner and her husband David Wagoner, Anthony Ricci, Elizabeth Helton and Julia Helton. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brooksby Village Continuing Care for the care of their father, and Care Dimensions Hospice Staff for their help and support. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, from 4 – 8P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 10 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St, Peabody at 11 A.M. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to Care Dimensions, Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
