Obituary of Joseph Kane Cavalear Jr.

Joseph Kane Cavalear Jr., 82, of Peabody, died peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 with his family at his side. He was the husband of Barbara (Josephs) Cavalear with whom he shared 28 years of marriage. He was born in Malden, MA on August 26, 1936, the son of the late Joseph Kane and Mary (Lubinski) Cavalear Sr and had resided in Melrose before moving to Peabody 35 years ago. Joseph was first employed at the TRW Carr Fastener Co in Cambridge for 20 years and later was a supervisor for 21 years at the Gillette Razor Co. in Boston MA for 21 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed doing gardening around his home, playing golf and was an avid reader. His most cherished time was spent with his family watching his children and great grand children mature. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cavalear of Peabody, his 4 sons, Michael Cavalear of Haverhill, MA, Scott and his wife Rose Cavalear of Atkinson, NH, Joseph K Cavalear of Waterbury, Vt and Stephen Cavalear of Melrose, his two daughters, Robin and her husband Louis Milinazzo of Wakefield, MA and Michelle Price of No. Palm Beach, Florida, a sister, Barbara Doucette of Salem, NH, nine grandchildren, a great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Herbert Cavalear. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Ma facility with a Service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory.
