Obituary of Robert J. Sullivan

Robert J. Sullivan, 75, of Wenham, died Thursday afternoon surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a courageous battle against cancer. He was the devoted husband of Gilda (Stanley) Sullivan with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Winthrop, he was the son of the late Raymond J and Gertrude (Phillips) Sullivan. He was raised and educated in Saugus later lived in Peabody and has spent the last years living in Wenham. Robert worked throughout the North Shore from the city of Beverly, Sylvania in Danvers, and for 27 years as a shipper/receiver for Home Depot in Danvers before he finally retired. Robert was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren teaching each of them the meaning of life, love & loyalty as well as sharing in all of their milestones & accomplishment. Besides his loving wife of 55 years, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Kimberly Sullivan of Melrose, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randall Craig of Wenham, by his beloved grandchildren, Jesse and James Craig of Wenham, and Christopher and Colton Sullivan of Melrose. Loving brother-in-law to Paul Stanley & his wife Anabee of NH, sister-in-law Janice Freeman & husband Jack Freeman of Amesbury, MA, brother-in-law Kenny Stanley of NH, sister-in-law Joyce O’Hanian & husband Jay O’Hanian of Salem, NH, sister-in-law Debbie Ansin & husband Mark Ansin of Windham, ME. His brother, Jack Sullivan and his wife Donna of Nashua, NH, and by a large number of dear nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings, Richard, Paul, and Michael Sullivan, and Elizabeth Fisher. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Funeral Service Monday at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
