Obituary of Priscilla M. (LeCain) Douglas

Priscilla M (LeCain) Douglas, 91, of South Peabody, died Tuesday evening surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Robert E. Douglas with whom she shared over 69 years of marriage. Born in South Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Freddie and Susie May (Broughton) LeCain. She was a life long and proud resident of South Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1945. Priscilla was a stay at home mom who raised her three daughters and once they were grown worked part-time for various business on the North Shore. Priscilla belonged to the Second Congregational Church in Peabody for over 79 years where she was very involved in all church activities and for the past 15 years attended Austin Square Church in Lynn. She loved spending holidays with family, enjoyed traveling and taking road trips “up country” to Conway, New Hampshire. Besides her loving husband of 69 years, she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and her husband Brian Trueira and Leslie and her husband Rob Grayton all of Peabody, her four beloved grandchildren, Michael and Cory Fletcher and Leigh Anne and Philip Trueira, and is also survived by her 6 great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Douglas-Tsoukalas and by her siblings, Dorothy Daly, George LeCain, and Barbara Creeden. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and her Funeral Service will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at Austin Square Church, 10 Keslar Ave, Lynn to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Austin Square Church, 10 Keslar Ave, Lynn, MA 01905-1735.
