Obituary of John "Gerry" Conlon

John “Gerry” Conlon, 84 of Peabody and formerly of Saugus and Lynn, died Monday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Joanne L (Karsis) Conlon with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Young) Conlon. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1952. Upon his marriage he moved to Saugus where he lived for over 38 years before moving to Peabody 15 years ago. Gerry was employed with Verizon for over 40 years as an in-house technician and retired from the Malden Office in 1994. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Nancy Conlon of Peabody and by his 5 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by his siblings, Richard and Robert Conlon and Jeanne Phalen. Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. I lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
