Obituary of Norman E. Hussey

Norman E. Hussey, 78, of West Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at his home following a short illness. He was the husband of Dorothy Mae (Kelly) Hussey with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He was born in Lynn on May 12, 1925, the son of the late James and Mary (Taylor) Hussey and had resided most of his life in Peabody. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute, Boston. He was first employed with the Boston Naval Shipyard. During WW 11 he served in the Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company with the US Army prior to his discharge in 1946. He then began working at the former A.C.Lawrence Leather Co. , Peabody working his way up to a Supervisor when the plant closed in 1978. He later was employed as Director of Purchasing at the Bicknell & Fuller Co. of Peabody for 18 years until his Retirement in 1999. He enjoyed dancing and fixing the computers and had a love for Animals, especially his son’ s dog, Max. His love of life and generosity were immediately apparent to all those whose lives he touched. He was a devoted husband and Father, and a best friend. He always put the feelings of others above his own, and was Someone who would do anything for the ones he loved. He was a member of the Jordan Lodge of Masons of Peabody and served as a former Trustee of the the Cy Tenney Club of West Peabody. Surviving him besides his wife are a son, Norman E. Hussey Jr. of Middleton, a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Frank Golini of Saugus, 3 grandchildren, Richard,Kerian and Lisa all of Saugus, a great granddaughter, Hannah, 4 sisters, Emily Merchant of Peabody, Helen Reardon of Milton, June Lojko of Danvers and Doris Carr of Beverly and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond, James, Harry and Bruce Hussey. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery Peabody. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Realtives and friends are Kindly invited.
