Obituary of Thomas M. Kanarellis

Thomas M. Kanarellis, 95, of Marco Island, Florida, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, NC with his family at his side. He was the husband of the late Georgia (Patsiaris) Kanarellis who died in 2008. Tom was born in Lynn, MA on May 24, 1924, the son of the late Michael T. and Wilhelmina (Petrodelis) Kanarellis and was raised and resided in Peabody before moving to North Carolina and Marco Island, Florida. He was a General Manager in the Automobile Industry working for many North Shore Car dealers and at Kelly Chrysler Jeep in Lynnfield, MA prior to his retirement. He loved to go dancing with his wife Georgia at the dance halls in the North Shore and also enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by a son, Michael Kanarellis of Houston, TX, his four grandchildren, Sophie, Tommy, and Jason Kanarellis and Nicole Saccone, his son-in-law, David F. Saccone of Mooresville, NC and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Joanne Saccone. A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by Services in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 460 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 in his memory.
