Obituary of Joao F. Loureiro
Joao F. Loureiro, 89, of Peabody, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence. Joao was born on February 2, 1930, in Portugal, son of the late Joao Loureiro and Beatriz Ferreira. He was raised and educated there prior to moving to the United States. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the leather industry in Peabody. He was a longtime member of the Portuguese American War Veterans Post 1, he enjoyed gardening, visiting his friends, help people work around their houses, and especially liked finding deals at stores, and he especially like watching is favorite Portuguese soccer team, Benfica. He is survived by his children Maria Loureiro, Alzira Hodgdon, Luisa Ingram, and John Loureiro; 10 grandchildren; 4 great granddaughters; his siblings Roger Loureiro, Acacio Loureiro, Tilita Ferreira. He was predeceased by a brother Aurelio Loureiro. A visitation will be held on Tuedsay, June 4 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody from 6P.M. – 8 P.M. His funeral will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5 at 11A.M. He will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
