Obituary of Elsie A. (Carnevale) Spiliotis

Elsie A. (Carnevale) Spiliotis,73, wife of the late George Spiliotis with whom she shared 46 years of marriage, died Wednesday morning at Salem Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Spiliotis was born April 18, 1933 in Beverly daughter of the late John and Asunta “Susie” (Nardella) Carnevale. She was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School Class of 1951. She moved to Peabody in 1955. Mrs. Spiliotis was a housewife who enjoyed gardening, walking and loved going to Mohegan Sun in CT. “She and her family met 3 times a week at a different Dunkin Donut location for their morning coffee meeting.” She is survived by her son, Paul D. Spiliotis of Salem, 3 brothers and their wives, John and Betty Carnevale, Robert and Patricia Carnevale, Frederick and Linda Carnevale; 2 sisters, Virginia Titony, Rose Cram and her husband Doug; a grandson, Michael P. Conway of Salem; many nieces and nephews. Her siblings Mary Ruggeri, Susan “Dollie” Jenness, Emma Keenan, Rocky Carnevale, “Dube” Carnevale and Tommy Carnevale predeceased her. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. (downtown location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Salem Hospital Development Office, Cardiac Care Unit, 81 Highland Ave., Salem MA 01970.
