Obituary of Eleanor Marie Bitchell

Eleanor M. (Twardowski) Bitchell, 83, of Peabody, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness with her family by her side. She as the wife of the late Chester Bitchell. She was born in Salem MA on July 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (Jakubczak) Twardowski and was raised and educated there graduating from Salem High School in 1954. She had been employed at the former Parker Brothers Games in Salem for 15 years before retiring in 1969. Eleanor had been a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody and enjoyed participating in the annual polish picnics there. She had a love of animals especially her parakeet, but what she cherished most was spending time with her grandson, Chris. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and his wife Jane Bitchell and John E. Bitchell, a grandson Christopher Bitchell all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Joshua Bitchell and the sister of the late Raymond, Michael, Edward, Chester, and Alvin Twardowski, Joan Patten, Hellen Cittadino and Laura Marraffa. A Service will be held at the family lot on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM. In Cedar Grove Cemetery, 100 Cedar Grove Ave., Peabody MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
