Obituary of C. Marguerite (Mc Vann) Byron

C. Marguerite (Mc Vann) Byron, 90, of Peabody, died peacefully Thursday morning at her home after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Byron. She was born in Peabody on November 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Hugh J. and Margaret (Mc Laughlin) Mc Vann and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1933. She was first employed at the former Carr Leather Company for 20 years where she started as a clerk and later became the office manager. She later worked at the City of Peabody retirement board from 1968 until her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed working around her house. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Debra J. Byron of Powell, Ohio, a brother and sister-in-law, James B. and Josephine Mc Vann of Lynn, 3 grandchildren, Peter J. and his wife Shannon Byron of Beverly, John J. Byron of Austin, TX, and Kelley Anne Byron of Revere, MA, a sister-in-law, Marge Mc Vann of Peabody,a longtime dear friend, Dorothy Vorel of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gertrude Doherty, Hubert J. Mc Vann and John Mc Vann. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the new 82 Lynn St., Peabody location. Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
