Obituary of Napoleon G. Goulos

Napoleon G. Goulos, 82, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning, January 11, 2004 after a lenghlty illness. He was the loving husband of Angelene (Drakopoulos) Goulos with whom he shared over 52years of marriage. Born in Peabody on June 12, 1921, he was the son of the late George and Caliope (Papuchis) Goulos. He was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Peabody Public Schools, until he enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. An honorable discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II in the Pacific War zone. Mr. Goulos was the founder and owner of the North Shore Rug Cleaners. He also was an expert of Oriental Rugs and worked for many years for Raymond’ s Department Store in Boston. Later, before his retirement, he worked maintenance for the City of Peabody School Department. He was an avid swimmer and enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. Mr. Goulos was a life-long member of D.A.V and St Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by 4 sons and two daughters-in-laws, George and Maria Goulos, Tomas Napoleon, and John and Valerie Goulos, all of Peabody, and Peter Goulos of Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Harry Andrian of Peabody, four grandchildren, Andrea, Theo, Athan, and Joana Goulos, all of Peabody. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Service in ST. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
