Obituary of Belmira Candida (Silva) Silva

Belmira C. (Silva) Silva PEABODY—Belmira C. (Silva) Silva, 75, beloved wife of the late Manuel Silva, died unexpectedly Wednesday at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Francisca (Silva) da Silva. She lived there in her youth, and emigrated to the United States in 1976, settling in Peabody where she lived for the last 30 years. Mrs. Silva was a Stitcher/Seamstress with New England Sporswear Leather Company in Peabody for several years. She was an active communicant at Our Lady of Fatima Church, and was on the Our Lady of Fatima Committee, and a member of the Holy Ghost Society. She enjoyed sewing, baking sweets for family gatherings, and as a Babysitter with great child caregiving skills. She is survived by: a brother and sister-in-law, Manuel Antonio & Maria Conceicao Silva of Peabody; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Alvarina & Humberto Boga and Antonio Cardoso all of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maria da Silva besides her husband Manuel Silva. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the new location of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. facility, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215
