Obituary of Frank J. Kilimonis

Frank J. Kilimonis, 77, of Peabody, died unexpectedly early Monday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Mona (Hickey) Kilimonis with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Skendall) Kilimonis. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate ofLynn Classical High School, class of 1943. He has been a resident of Peabody for the past 49 years. He was a veteran on World War ll, served with the United States Marine Corps, and saw action on Okinawa and RyukYU Islands. He later worked for General Electric River Works Plant in Lynn as a Government Contract Administrator for 41 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed all the of Boston's Professional Sports Teams. He also was an avid Black Jack Card Player, who enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas. He also enjoyed spending his time with his family and watching his grandchildren and their sports activity. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Ruby Kilimonis and Paul and Kristen Kilimonis, all of Middleton; a sister, Josephine Barrett of Peabody; four grandchildren, Kyle, Jamie, Tyler and Nolan Kilimonis, all of Middleton. He was the brother of the late Aldona Valkevich and Ann Stamp. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8 a.m. the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Mass at 9 a.m.in St. John's Church, Peabody. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Following cremation, a graveside committal will held on Friday at 2:00 PM in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
