Obituary of Ruth (Treiber) O'Brien
Ruth T. (Treiber) O’ Brien, 83, of Salem, New Hampshire and formally of East Boston and Peabody, died late Tuesday evening at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Herbert O’ Brien.
Born in Boston, She was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Powell) Treiber. She was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School, class of 1937. She later lived in Peabody for over 35 years and has spent the last 6 years living in Salem, New Hampshire.
She had worked for a few years at the First National Bank in Boston as a Key Punch Operator before her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and Staff member of the Drum and Bugle Core, both with Our Lady of The Assumption Church in East Boston. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and reading.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Marilyn O’ Brien of Windham, New Hampshire; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and James Drago of Salem, New Hampshire, also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa, Cathleen, and Patrick O’ Brien, all of Windham, NH., and Jill and James Drago of Salem, NH.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church, Middleton at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.
