Obituary of John J. Ambrose
John J. Ambrose, 85, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home, Peabody following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Helen (Driscoll) Ambrose with whom he shared over 44 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late James and Bridget (Barry) Ambrose. He was raised and educated in Salem and was graduate of Salem High School. He has lived in Peabody for the past 44 years.
He worked for GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave in Salem for over 40 years as a shipper/receiver and truck driver until his retirement.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Ambrose Jr., and his wife Amanda of Danvers, and Barry and his wife Elizabeth Ambrose of Peabody; a sister, Eleanor Ambrose of Salem; four grandchildren, Thomas and Ashley Ambrose, both of Peabody, and Maya and Ava Ambrose, both of Danvers, he also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Irving.
A private Funeral Service was held on Thursday morning with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
