Obituary of Maria Jose (de Oliveira) de Oliveira

Maria Jose (de Oliveira) de Oliveira 93 years of Peabody, wife of the late Domingos J. de Oliveira, died Wednesday afternoon at her home after a brief illness. Mrs. de Oliveira was born May 10, 1910 in San Miguel, Azores daughter of the late Jacinto and Maria (de Jesus) de Oliveira. She was raised and educated in San Miguel and immigrated to the United States in 1969 making her home in Peabody. Mrs. de Oliveira was employed for several years as a stitcher for Dutchess Shoe Company, Ideal Baby Shoe Company and retired in 1975 as a machine operator from Briners Paper Factory in Wakefield. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, reading and traveling to the Azores. Mrs. de Oliveira is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Maria Z. and Arlindo Constantino, Conceicao Connie Oliveira, Teresinha Oliveira Garcia and Jaime B. Garcia all of Peabody; 2 sons, Jose Oliveira of Peabody and Laureno M. Oliveira of San Miguel Azores; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Zilia Oliveira and Hermano Oliveira. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
