Obituary of David M. Lorenz
David M. Lorenz, 64 years, of Peabody died Friday evening at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center in Peabody after a brief illness.
Mr. Lorenz was born January 28, 1940 in Salem son of Eleanor (Murch) Lorenz of Salem and the late Frederick T. Lorenz. He was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem Vocational High School. During the Vietnam conflict he served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.
Mr. Lorenz was employed for 38 years as a licensed electrician repair controller at the General Electric Riverworks Plant in Lynn until his retirement in June of 2003. He was a Maine State certified and registered Master Maine Guide and enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. Prior to learning of his illness he had planned on attending wood carving classes.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son and his wife, Frederick D. and Amy L. Lorenz of Charlestown and a lifelong friend, Patricia Vigliotta of Maine

His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the David Lorenz Widerness Memorial Trust Fund, C/O 3 Short Street Place, Charlestown MA 02129.
