Obituary of Kevin F. Barry

Kevin F. Barry, 61, of Danvers, and formally of Peabody and Swampscott, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at his home. He was the former husband of Irene (Melanson) Barry of Peabody. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Martin) Barry. He was raised in Swampscott, attended Swampscott Public Schools and later graduated from Newman Prep in Boston, class of 1960. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College in 1964. He worked as 1st assistant clerk at the Peabody District Court from 1974 until his retirement this past September. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all of Boston’ s professional sports teams, and also enjoyed golfing and traveling to England and Ireland. He later enjoyed watching his grandchildren and their sports activities. Besides his former wife Irene (Melanson) Barry, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Erin Barry, and James and Kerrie Barry, all of Salem; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila Barry of Peabody, Kathleen and Scott Taylor of Danvers, and Kristen and James LeDuc of Danvers; six grandchildren, Colin and Seamus LeDuc, Alexander, Matthew, and Brian Taylor, and Killian Barry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott.
