Obituary of Sheila M. (Fallon) Russell
Sheila M. (Fallon) Russell 64 years of Peabody, wife of Joseph C. Russell Ret. Peabody Deputy Fire Chief, died Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after long illness.
Mrs. Russell was born on October 21, 1939 in Salem daughter of the late Clement E. and Gertrude A. (Pierce) Fallon. She was raised and educated in Beverly. She attended Salem Commercial School majoring in secretarial courses. She received her Associate Degree in Mental Health from Beverly Community College and her degree in Psychology from Salem State College. She has been residing in Peabody for most of her life.
Mrs. Russell was employed at Children’ s Hospital in the psychiatric inpatient unit and at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Hospital in the Payne unit for a few years. Her other employments were at the Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. and the North Shore Gas Company Beverly sales office. From 1976 to 1988 she had been employed at Salem Hospital and most recently as an antique dealer. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 40 years of marriage she is survived by a son, William C. Russell of Peabody; a daughter, Mary Jo Russell of Peabody; 2 grandsons, Emanuel T. Couto Jr. and Joseph R. Couto of Peabody; a sister Patricia Lendall of Peabody; a niece and a grandniece, Karen Appleton and Sheila Appleton of Lynn; a close cousin, Glenda Ritterhaus of Ventura CA; 2 lifelong friends, Leo Higgins of Peabody and Tom Walker of Medford and many other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8 p.m. A family committal of ashes will be held on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plummer Home for Boys, 37 Winter Island Rd., Salem MA 01970.
