Obituary of Roy M. Feener, Sr.

Roy M. Feener, 80, of Wilson Terrace, Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Sylvester) Feener. Born in Topsfield, he was the son of the late Frank Roy & Eva May (Ingraham) Feener. He had lived in Peabody for most of his life and had attended Peabody Public Schools. He had worked for Empire Clothing Company in Salem for over 23 years as a collector prior to his retirement a few years ago. He also had served for 2 ½ years with the National Guard. Mr. Feener loved playing cribbage and was a past president of the Marblehead Senior Citizen Center. He was active with the Counseling on Aging in Marblehead & Peabody, and also was a member of the Philanthropic Lodge of Marblehead. He is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Roy M. & Kathleen Feener Jr., of Peabody, Bruce C. & Susan Feener of Port Orange, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Salem; a loving companion, Jeanne Bartlett of Marblehead and her sons, Gary Bartlett of Marblehead and Richard Bartlett of Beverly; 10 grandchildren, Dr. R. Michael Feener, Tracie Williams, Amy King, Julie Feener, Jodi Rippey, Alfred Bulling, Theresa Bulling, Kelly Mzaouakk, Karen Bartlett, and Paul Bartlett; 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francis & Everett Feener, Edith Swenson, and Grace Feener. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday @ 11:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398, which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
