Obituary of Christine (Speliotis) McQuade

Christine (Speliotis) McQuade, 82, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James McQuade. Born in Dover, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late James and Zoe (Anagnostopoulos) Speliotis. She was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools, and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1940. She later married and lived in Lynn for over 26 years before moving back to Peabody a few years ago. Prior to her retirement many years ago, she worked as a secretary for GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave in Salem for over 40 years. She was a member of the quarter century club at Sylvania as well as the Daughters of Penelope at St. Vasilios Church in Peabody. She also enjoyed doing Japanese Needle point. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Carryll and Mildred Speliotis of Salem and Stephen and Bernice Speliotis of Lynn; two sisters-in-law, Viola Speliotis of Salem and Carole Speliotis of Danvers, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility followed Services in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Sunday from 3 until 6 PM. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. In lie of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’ s Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140.
