Obituary of Claudia Mercedes Rodriguez

Claudia Mercedes (Nunez) Rodriguez, 52, beloved wife of Roberto Rodriguez of Salem, died on Tuesday afternoon at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a long illness. Born in the village of Mao-Valverde in the Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Jose Generoso and Felicia Mercedes Nunez. She emigrated to the United States, first living in Salem, moved to New York City, then back to Salem where she lived for the last 15 years. Mrs. Rodriguez worked as an Assembler with the Glenn Company in Salem, then they moved to Danvers and then Lawrence. She also worked in the Kitchen at Cappuccino’ s in Marblehead, and at Analogic in Danvers and Peabody. She retired due to failing health over the last 10 years. She is survived by: her husband, Roberto Rodriguez of Salem; one son, Ventroy Rodriguez of Peabody; two daughters, Michele Newton of Peabody and Melisa Rodriguez of Salem; three grandchildren, Domenic Newton, Jalon Newton, and Emily Rodriguez; seven sisters, Carmen Nunez, Leocadia Pulusa De Leon, both of Salem, Dilenia Nunez of Peabody, Victoria Pena of Miami, FL, Annie Nunez and Blachi Tavares, both of NY, and Milagros of the Domincan Republic; two brothers, Ramon Nunez of Dominican Republic and of Puerto Rico; her close nephews and nieces, Willis, Bernardo, Abnere, Johnny, David, Karina, Walden, Alberto, and Wanda, and many nieces and nephews throughout the US and Dominican Republic, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
