Obituary of Ethel J. (Cameron) Hoyt

Ethel J. Hoyt, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in the Groton nursing facility, Groton New York where she had been a resident since 2002. She was born February 15, 1911 in Chignecto, Nova Scotia, Canada and had been a resident of the Homer area since 1999. Mrs. Hoyt had been a resident of Somerville, Melrose and Medford, MA most of her life and was employed as a practical nurse at several nursing homes in Massachusetts. Following her retirement, she and her husband, Walter moved to Florida where they lived for 26 years. Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Legere of Port Elgin, New Brunswick; Brenda Sonnacchio of Homer and Susan Buhay of Allen Park, MI; a sister, Muriel Beers of Moncton, New Brunswick, nine grandchildren and eleven grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter M. Hoyt, Jr., a son, Walter M. Hoyt, III. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’ s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
