Obituary of Raymond Walter McCarthy

Raymond Walter Mc Carthy, 69, of Salem died Friday Evening at the Salem Hospital after a long illness. He was born and raised in Peabody The son of the late Michael J. and Mary E. (Hogan) Mc Carthy and had resided in Salem For the past 12 years. He had been a solutions technician for the Osram Sylvania Company in Danvers for over 32 years prior to his retirement. 4 years ago. He also was a delivery man for Thompkins Furniture Company of Salem for many years. He was a member of the A.O.H. Div. 18 of Salem and their Honor Guard, the Loyal Order of Moose of Salem and the Beverly Lodge of Elks. He was an avid Bowler and enjoyed playing Golf. He is survived by Eight Children, Kevin Mc Carthy of Chelsea, Beth Costa of Lynn, Michael Mc Carthy of Westford, Ralph Mc Carthy and Constance Mc Carthy both of Peabody, David Mc Carthy of Danvers, Karen Mc Carthy of Salem, and Maureen Champagne of Amesbury; 2 brothers, Ralph and Warren Mc Carthy both of Peabody; 2 sisters, Marion Stepenuk of Salem and Margaret Sheehan of Peabody, 7 grandchildren, Cory, Craig, Christopher, Kyle, Cody and Kayla Costa and Bryan Champagne. He was the twin brother of the late Arthur Mc Carthy. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. From the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, at 11:00 A.M. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting Hours on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
